Paperwork is overwhelming family doctors. It’s robbing physicians of valuable time to see patients. It’s time to lessen the administrative burdens on family physicians by simplifying (or eliminating) forms and transferring administrative responsibilities to other members of the care team.
The Administrative Burdens Working Group (ABWG) was set up as a result of the 2022 Physician Master Agreement (PMA). The goal is to reducing physicians’ time spent on administrative tasks.
Get involved!
Currently, the working group is looking to better understand the impact of notifications for laboratory results on physicians’ practices. To do this, ABWG project team would like to speak directly with 10-15 community-based physicians from a variety of specialties. They are especially interested in hearing from physicians caring for unattached patients, working in episodic care and walk-in clinics, working in multiple clinics, and locum physicians.
The meeting will be held via Zoom for approximately one hour with ABWG representatives from Doctors of BC and Health Quality BC. Participating physicians will be compensated for their time via the standard sessional rate of $176.86 per hour).
