Alexa believes family doctors play a critical, nodal role in our healthcare system. She is looking forward to working with the team, physicians, partners, and stakeholders on the evolution of primary care in British Columbia.

Alexa is a creative strategist with over 20 years of experience leading teams in public, private and non-profit spheres. A change leader with an MBA in Sustainable Systems, Alexa is skilled at moving the whole working of an organization, and its effects on systems, in ways that illuminate potential and build capacity.

Renée provides strategic expertise on physician compensation at BC Family Doctors. She advises on the ongoing evolution of fee-for-service and the Longitudinal Family Physician (LFP) Payment Model, helping ensure that compensation remains connected to care.

Renée is a family physician and physician leader with 20 years of experience in health system change. She has played a leading role in advancing primary care reform in British Columbia, including the creation and implementation of the LFP Payment Model. Her work focuses on tackling complex problems and creating meaningful change amid uncertainty.

Penelope leads advocacy, policy and strategic communications work for BC Family Doctors. A ‘policy wonk’ at heart, she likes to dig into issues at the heart of family medicine and lead needed change. She works to grow the organization’s influence and impact.

With more than 25 years of expertise, she has held various senior leadership roles within the BC health system, along with running her own consulting firm. She blends her expertise in the health system with a Masters in Health Administration with her communications savvy from a Bachelor of Journalism. As a social justice champion, she believes everyone deserves equitable access to high quality, patient-centered healthcare.

Rachel is your economics and billing advocate, working to support our physician members with billing inquiries and education, fee code changes, and process improvements.

Working in healthcare philanthropy for the past 20 years, she joined BC Family Doctors with a Bachelor of Science and a background in community relations and stakeholder engagement. She believes that open communication and a shared vision of the common good gives us the tools to find our greatest potential, together.

An experienced communications professional with over twenty years of experience in healthcare and life sciences, Jenny has a passion for storytelling and believes strongly in equitable and accessible healthcare for all British Columbians. She brings thought leadership, media relations and strategic planning skills to her role leading the communications function for BC Family Doctors.

Jenny is a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society and the Canadian Science Writers Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, an honours Diploma in Marketing and Communications from BCIT and a Certificate in Project Management from UBC.

Alex oversees the day-to-day operations of BC Family Doctors, supporting human resources, financial, governance and general administration. Working closely with the Executive Director, she provides key support for the team, board members and member physicians. With over 15 years of administrative experience in a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations, Alex is looking forward to utilizing her critical thinking and organization skills to continue improving processes that support the team’s capacity and work.

Holding a Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resources Management, Alex is a Certified Professional in Human Resources with over 5 years of experience in leading organizations in this area. An avid believer in continued professional development, Alex is a lifelong learner who is eager and ready to do what it takes to help advocate for BC Family Doctors and their patients.

Grace facilitates the implementation and improvement of initiatives related to billing support, physician payment models, and educational tools to support family doctors.

With a strong commitment to fostering collaborative relationships, and a background in process and project management, Grace uses her expertise to contribute to change within healthcare systems. She believes in the importance of collective effort, empowerment, and authentic adaptation to advance sustainable and inclusive healthcare access for all.

Jebet contributes to BC Family Doctors’ mission by providing support to our members, board, and staff. She administrates day-to-day operations of BC Family Doctors, supports members, and provides meeting and events coordination. She works closely with all of the team to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of member services.

She brings expertise in client support and operations, as well as experience working in healthcare supporting both clinicians and patients. Jebet is passionate about providing compassionate client support while optimising operational procedures

Sammy oversees communications, social media strategy, and event promotion to enhance the organization’s visibility across digital channels. She is driven by a mission to put family doctors at the center of the healthcare conversation through strategic storytelling and campaigns. By collaborating across departments, Sammy ensures that all the latest news and critical updates reach our physician members.

With expertise in analyzing trends and social listening, Sammy transforms data into actionable insights and engaging content. She is a firm believer in providing an objective and inclusive vision for healthcare advocacy, while maintaining authenticity and professionalism.

Annabella supports the day-to-day operations of BC Family Doctors, with responsibilities spanning general administration, financial administration, human resources, membership support, and meeting and event coordination. Working closely with the Executive Director and team, she helps keep organizational processes running smoothly while supporting board members and physician members.

With a background in human resources, operations, digital marketing, customer service, and entrepreneurship, Annabella brings a versatile and creative approach to her work. She enjoys learning new things, solving problems, and finding ways to make processes more organized and efficient. Passionate about supporting BC Family Doctors, she is proud to contribute to ensuring they have the support they need to remain at the heart of a strong and vibrant healthcare system.
