Special Authority eForms

Family doctors working in community practices can now submit Special Authority (SA) requests online. The goal is fewer faxes, shorter wait times, and a more secure and efficient process.

eForms are available for all drugs on the SA drug list. The eForm platform can also be used to request exceptional coverage for a medication not on the SA drug list.

How to get started:

Physicians will need to enrol in the government’s Provider Identity Portal (PIdP), using the BC Services Card app. Once enrolled, you will receive a secure digital identity that allows you access to the eForms platform as well as several other provincial health programs.

Video tutorials are available to help you learn how to enrol in PIdP, and how to submit SA eForms.

EMR Integration:

Physicians in community practices will be able to access eForms through your EMR software to submit SA requests. Speak to your EMR vendor for specific information about eForms integration and access.

Physicians in Health Authorities:

Physicians working in health authority settings can also use eForms; however, the enrolment process is different than for community practice and specific to each health authority.
