Masks in Medical Settings

BC has entered Phase 3 of the Restart Plan which means some restrictions have eased when it comes to wearing masks outside of medical settings. However, there are no changes for medical clinics. Clinics must continue to require staff and patients to wear medical masks as set out in the existing mask mandate. Vaccination status does not change this requirement.

Doctors of BC has created a document summarizing this information for use in your clinic (printer-ready).

Discussions are taking place to determine next steps with respect to updating guidelines for infection prevention and longer-term wearing of masks in medical facilities.
