Early in the pandemic, temporary coverage for patients without MSP was established for COVID-19 related services. In response to the continued COVID-19 pandemic, the temporary coverage for services related to COVID-19 has now been extended until October 31, 2021.
Individuals present in BC who would otherwise not be eligible for coverage under MSP are temporarily covered for services solely related to COVID-19 using the following generic Personal Health Number (PHN):

Date of Birth: 08/01/1988
This generic PHN should not be used for beneficiaries who are eligible for MSP coverage for the date of service. Those eligible patients should first establish their MSP coverage so that services can be billed under their own PHN.
