The Ministry of Health has reinstated a mask mandate for doctors in hospitals throughout BC, effective October 3rd.
Family doctors who work in in hospitals and health authority owned/operated/ contracted medical facilities are required to wear a mask in patient-care areas such as waiting rooms and examination rooms.
Masks are not mandated in private medical clinics, offices, or practices. However because of the flu season, masks are strongly recommended in patient-care areas as clinically indicated – to prevent infection and protect family doctors, their patients, and their staff.
