Description

Columbia Primary Care Clinic is a collegial group of 6 Family Physicians sharing a spacious clinic in downtown Trail. We are looking for a locum to help out in the clinic between now and September. The start and end dates are flexible; come for two weeks or two months!

There is the opportunity to combine family practice with other work such as OR assists, Hospitalist shifts, GP obstetrics, GP paediatrics, GP psychiatry, Long term care, or ER shifts.
For those that enjoy teaching, Trail is a UBC teaching center and the clinic is involved in teaching medical students and family practice residents. We are currently billing under the Longitudinal Family Practice (LFP) payment model, which locums are now also able to bill under.

Our office offers a friendly and efficient environment with support from our experienced MOAs and Registered Nurse with PCN support including a Social Worker, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Primary Care RN, Respiratory Therapist, Dietician, and Clinical Pharmacologist. The clinic layout boasts a welcoming waiting room, a minor operating room (OR), and each GP has an office/exam room with a view of the Columbia River and a well-equipped second exam room. We currently use Med Access as our EMR and are providing a mix of in person and virtual care.

Specialty support available at the nearby Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital includes Anesthesia, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Internal Medicine, ICU, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Plastics, Urology, Pathology, ENT, and Ophthalmology.

Living in the Kootenays is amazing. Nearby Rossland has been named Canada’s Best Ski Town by US Today for 2 years in a row and features 2,919 feet of vertical at Red Resort. There is great cross-country skiing at Blackjack, mountain biking on over 200 kms of maintained trails, hiking, an aquatic centre in Trail, and the option to practice pretty much every organized sport. The area boasts a thriving arts and culture scene, good restaurants, grocery stores, and shopping.

For long-term commitments, generous rural recruitment incentives are available, including relocation funding, sign-on bonus, retention flat fee and CME allocation.
Overhead is 30/70.
