IUD insertions are billed using the following patient interaction codes:

  • Clinic-based Advanced Procedure (98020/98050)
  • Clinic-based Minor Procedure or Diagnostic Test (98022/98052) – if you do a urine pregnancy test

You will also be billing Direct Patient Care Time (98010/98040) for the time that you spend with the patient.
