In rural and remote communities, access to primary care can mean the difference between life and death. For one critically ill patient in a remote BC community, survival depended on fast action, skilled local providers—and an innovative virtual lifeline.

When the patient’s condition took a turn for the worse, local doctors used ROCCi (Rural Outreach in Critical Care and Internal Medicine) and RUDi (Rural Urgent Doctor in-aid)—two cutting-edge virtual support pathways—to connect with specialists in real time. With expert guidance just a video call away, the team stabilized the patient and arranged for life-saving treatment.

Fair Care Everywhere means ensuring no one is left behind, whether they’re in Vancouver or the most remote corners of the province.
