Shortly after marking her first anniversary at the helm of BC Family Doctors, Alexa Pitoulis, Executive Director, shared insights on the pressures facing the primary care system and how family physicians are rallying together to create needed change.

“We will never get to a point again where there are enough family doctors to match the population growth in the way that medicine and family medicine is being practiced,” Alexa explained during a Discovery Pod interview.

The supply and demand challenges necessitate that we do things differently, and Alexa is harnessing the expertise and entrepreneurial energy of family doctors to create positive change. In June, BC Family Doctors will launch its new strategic plan, the culmination of countless conversations and bold ideas that will strengthen the primary care system for physicians, patients and community.
