With Ravi Kahlon’s appointment as B.C.’s new Minister of Health, BC Family Doctors reached out directly to congratulate him and call for continued action to strengthen primary care across the province.

In his letter to Minister Kahlon, BC Family Doctors President Dr. Birinder Narang, highlighted the opportunity to work together and outlined some of the key challenges facing family doctors and their patients:

  • Disconnected digital health systems
  • Unsustainable workloads
  • Inadequate support for team-based care
  • A lack of health resources in rural and remote communities

These priority issues are essential to building a stronger, more sustainable healthcare system in B.C. We look forward to working with Minister Kahlon and the Ministry of Health to advance solutions that support family doctors and improve care for patients.

Read our letter to Minister Kahlon and stay tuned for more updates as wee keep ensuring your voices are heard.
