The Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail is looking for locum physicians for hospitalist shifts over the winter of 2025/26. Come to enjoy a beautiful West Kootenay winter while you work in our hospitalist department!

The group consists of 4 hospitalists working 5 or 7 day rotations plus a 5th working on our new ‘ALC’ line seeing non acute patients for ~3 hours a day. Hours are typically 0800-1600 hours. Call is about 1/4 while you’re on shift, no call requirements when you’re off.
We have a beautiful common office where there is always another hospitalist to chat with, and where many consultants swing by to review patients. We get great support from our internal medicine, ICU, radiology, ER and surgical colleagues. Normally we carry 10-15 patients per day including 1-2 new consults and 1-2 discharges. We act mainly as MRP for most patients but do some supportive care for our surgical colleagues.
