Thanks to your strong support, our resolution calling for primary care clinic-ready spaces in new developments passed at the Union of BC Municipalities on September 25, 2025.

This success marks an important milestone in addressing one of the biggest barriers to primary care- the critical shortage of suitable, affordable clinic spaces. The resolution calls on the province to partner with municipalities and developers, supported by provincial funding, to make healthcare infrastructure a standard part of community planning.

Our work continues as we turn this resolution into action. Our President, Dr. Darren Joneson, and Executive Director, Alexa Pitoulis, will be meeting with Division EDs, mayors and city councilors and MLAs across the province to advance this crucial work.

We extend our sincere thanks to Port Moody Mayor Meghan Lahti and Councillor Amy Lubik for their leadership and unwavering support in championing this resolution.

Together, we are building communities where both family doctors and patients can thrive.
