Recommendations for an integrated primary care system
November 3, 2025

We’re speaking out for your needs as family physicians. We have eight recommendations to support the continued dialogue and planning for the second Cooperation and Responsible Government Accord (CARGA) Report on the future of primary care in BC.
We call for action on our key priorities:
- Adopt the OurCare Standard
- Implement a BC-specific Primary Care Act
- Support community-based, integrated care models
- Improve payment models to support team-based care
- Implement the Rural Health Strategy
- Solve the clinic space shortage through municipal partnerships
- Reduce administrative burden through digital integration
- Develop performance measurement
Together, we are building a primary care system where both patients and health professionals can thrive.
