Description

Job Summary: Established practice of 30 + years. I currently work 3 full days, but there is flexibility to work up to 5 days per week. We do a mixture of in-person and telehealth, with the ratio being approximately 80/20.

My Active panel is approximately 1000 patients with a very nice mixture of families with young children, adults, and the elderly. I no longer provide in-patient care at Comox Valley Hospital or Long Term Care, but there is the opportunity to do both if desired.

About the Clinic: A very collegial work environment with 10 Family Physicians. We teach Resident Physicians through the Strathcona Residency Program. We are part of the Primary Care Network with our social worker Susanna on staff. We have a monthly continuing medical education group which the incoming physician would be welcome to join. For fun we have a team in the annual snow-to-surf race, a softball team, and a curling team, we occasionally go out for dinner and have fun at trivia nights.

No inpatient, obstetrics, or emergency coverage is required. If the successful candidate wishes to obtain hospital privileges, we can facilitate.
Community Information: The Comox Valley is one of the fastest growing communities in BC, and with good reason. We have all the amenities, business and conveniences of a larger center, but with the perks - community feel, lack of traffic, free parking! - of a smaller town.

This region has endless opportunities for outdoor exploration and recreation, and boasts truly incredible natural beauty, to be enjoyed all year long. The rapid growth of this area brings with it a real vitality, as well as an ever-growing list of progressive businesses, such as craft breweries, boutiques, restaurants, allied health clinics and more.

Benefits: Physicians may be eligible for additional remuneration in accordance with the Rural Subsidiary Agreement (RSA) including:

- Recruitment Incentive - $10,000
- Fee Premium - 6.93%
- Annual Flat Fee – $10,516.77
- Relocation Costs Reimbursement: up to a maximum of $15,000 (amount based on funding availability and on location relocating from)
Rural CME starting at $2,200/annum in years 3 & 4 in the community, increasing to a maximum of $4,400/annum after 4 years
