Our leadership team, including President Dr. Darren Joneson, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Renee Fernandez, and Executive Director Alexa Pitoulis, met with Honourable Josie Osborne, Minister of Health this week to advance our collective work on strengthening primary care across British Columbia.

The meeting reinforced our shared commitment to key priorities including team-based care, rural health support and addressing the primary care clinic space crisis. We appreciate the Minister’s engagement and the government’s recent actions to reduce administrative burden, including changes to sick note requirements that directly respond to our advocacy.

These discussions build on our ongoing collaboration to develop practical solutions that support family doctors and improve access to care for all British Columbians. We are encouraged by our aligned vision for a sustainable primary care system and look forward to continuing this important work together.
