Patient care related to a motor vehicle accident (MVA) cannot be billed under the LFP Payment Model. Neither time codes nor interaction codes are payable for this care.

This care continues to be billed fee-for-service in accordance with C. 17 of the General Preamble to Fee-for-Service (Motor Vehicle Accident Billing Guidelines).

When MVA-related care is provided on the same day as care payable under the LFP Payment Schedule, start and end times must be entered on the fee-for-service codes.
