Family physicians in BC are being asked to review and comment on the draft of the Cataract – Treatment of Adults guideline.
This update to the 2005 guideline provides recommendations for primary care providers in the prevention, diagnosis, management and postoperative care of cataracts for adults (age 19 and older). Key updates include new reference tables, postoperative care ‘red flags’ and a patient pathway.
Family doctors can access the feedback questionnaire here. Comments are welcome until April 9th, 2021.
The guideline was drafted by Guidelines and Protocols Advisory Committee (GPAC), in collaboration representatives from Ophthalmology and Family Medicine. For questions about the guideline development process, visit BCGuidelines.ca.
