Locum coverage needed for maternity leave March-Oct 2021 in the Smithers and Burns Lake area. Primary care practice with Carrier Sekani Family Services for 5 Indigenous communities within 1.5 hour drive of Smithers (Fort Babine, Tachet, Woyenne, Wet'suwet'en and Ts'il Kaz Koh. Flexible schedule 3-4 days a week (no weekends). Combination of telehealth (from home) and in person visits (at the community health centers). Option to schedule weekly or monthly community visits depending on where you are based. MOA and interprofessional support through Carrier Sekani Family Services and Lake Babine Nation. Payment is sessional with travel time and expenses covered by NITAOP. No overhead so you receive 100% of sessional billings. Appointments booked for 20-30mins. MOIS EMR. No ER, no inpatient, no call. Shared care with two other GPs for three of the communities and an NP in one community. You would be part of a distributed team of 10 family physicians and NPs working with Carrier Sekani Family Services. Option to cover full maternity leave or a few months. Prenatal care for up to 20wks, then shared care afterwards; options to see prenatal patients for longer if comfortable.
